Coquille Wins Season Opener At Myrtle Point In windy debut
Coquille defeats Myrtle Point 7 to 1 in the season opener at the new Bender tract field. Gardner pitched for Coquille with strong battery work and a Portland tri city league pedigree, while Polland starred for Myrtle Point and Johnson made a standout defensive play. An excursion from Bendon and a full crowd enjoyed the game despite loose soil, chilly winds, and an imperfect field. Myrtle Point plans a Sunday trip to North Bend and a Marshfield home game is set for the 27th.
