Verdict Returns Against Port of Coquille River
The Myrtle Point Transportation Company was awarded $1750 damages and costs after a four day circuit court trial in Coquille. The case claimed $2620 in damages for slashing that washed into the Coquille River on October 7 1913 and fouled the Myrtle Point Mill boom, hindering boats. The port defense argued the mill boom intruded into the stream and the boats were in danger. a motion for a new trial is expected.

State Veterinarian H Lytle outlines that all cattle sold at public auctions must be tuberculin tested and proven TB-free under Section 31 of the Live Stock Sanitary Laws.
