Pioneer George H. Guerin Sr. Dies in Oakland at 75
George Halsey Guerin Sr. died in Oakland California after a long illness. Born September 23 1842 in Mobile Alabama he lived in Newark Pennsylvan ia Eckley Curry County Oregon Myrtle Point and Oakland where he and his wife ran the Guerin Hotel before moving to retirement. He served as justice of the peace in Eckley and leaves ten children and fourteen grandchildren. Oregon war registration 62985.

North Bend man dies of pneumonia at 35
R A Loomis of North Bend died at his North McPherson street home this morning from pneumonia. He was about 35, leaving a wife in poor health and three small children. A former teamster, he had lived in the city about four years and recently drove a team at Perham camp on the Coquille Marshfield road before being brought in sick. He was a respected citizen and many friends regret his early death.

Pioneer Coos Bay educator Mrs Hodgkins Was son dies at 72
Mrs Susan Winsson aged 72 died at 10 this morning at her daughter Mrs Daisy Codding’s Millington home from heart failure. An Indian native of Goos County, she was wife to Coos County’s first superintendent of schools and widow of a pioneer operator in Coos Bay. Married 1859 to Geo Hodgkins who died in 1862, she wed George Wasson four years later. Eleven children were born, seven survive, with nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
