The Coquille Valley residents attended Myrtle Point's inaugural Chautauqua, opening Thursday and closing Tuesday. Ellison White program impressed with variety of speakers and musical acts. Highlights included the Sonian Serenaders, Gullata Trio, Boston Lyric Opera performances, Victor Murdock on world affairs, and Miss Harriette Gunny Roberson lecture. Attendance strong despite war news. 500 season tickets under contract for 1917.
