John F. Stevens, chief of the Hill lines in Oregon, stated after returning from Chicago that two major Oregon projects will receive heavy construction in 1911. The United Railways line to Tillamook and the Oregon Electric extension from Salem to Eugene will be pursued. Fire at North Bend Destroys Hotel and Annex
A Friday morning blaze, believed incendiary, destroyed the North Bend hotel and its annex, plus Emery and McCollum's livery stable. The White House store and Van Zile's furniture store suffered damage. Hotel owner Robt. Marsden valued at over 9 000 dollars and insured for 3 500. Annex and barn owned by L. M. Noble, uninsured, loss about 6 000. Fire began near 2 a m. Marshfield News.

Myrtle Point high school edged Bandon 19 to 17 on Hermann court in a tight opener. Toe Schneider rested with an ankle injury, but Harry Dement stood in and opened the scoring. E H Boyle refereed, J G Brown umpired, and a large crowd attended despite early power outages.
