Want Wagon Road Planked
The Marshfield Chamber of Commerce and local residents urge planking of the Coos Bay wagon road along its entire length at about 1500 dollars per mile. Meanwhile valley residents hope to rock the Middle Fork road to maintain a durable link to the railroad after planking. Grades are being perfected and with more work this summer the Middle Fork road will be greatly improved, especially with Douglas county end attention to accelerate a permanent roadway.
