Town Meeting Seeks railroad concessions on this side of river

At a Commercial club meeting last Tuesday officials discussed offering incentives to the Coos Bay and Idaho railroad to run the line along this side of the river. A committee of Lloyd Spires E W Heman and S C Giles was appointed to confer with the railroad men on rights of way and depot site.

Marshfield city council reviews a draft city charter prepared by a fifteen member committee and hires three lawyers to assist the city attorney. A sewing machine drawing at the Mill store selects Daniel Barklow as winner, marking his second similar win. C H Helling returns to resume beach operations at Riley Creek mouth with a plan to test machinery and beach value using a centrifugal sand pump. Coos county corporations must file sworn reports for the new corporate tax. J M Blake of Marshfield notes possible expansion of the street railway toward Coquille after the current project on the bay. Rev Gazey’s item ends abruptly.
