Clarence Waters, widow of a longtime resident, and mother of three children Clarence, Osborne Waters, and Arthur, resided near Lee. Mrs. Waters joined the Latter Day Saints in 1903. Funeral services were held at the family home at 1:00 PM Monday December 42, with Rev Thos Barklow officiating and interment in Mast cemetery, a large cortege paying respects to a beloved pioneer resident.

The Speedwell leaves Bandon at 11 00 A M for San Francisco Redondo San Pedro Los Angeles Long Beach and San Diego, with the earlier date of December 26 corrected to December 27.
Suspect G Miller, linked to the Bank of Myrtle Point burglary, was arrested after allegedly admitting involvement to Club Case and Marshfield associate Borreo. He denied part of the tale, waived preliminary exam, and was bound over to the next court term with bonds set at 15000 dollars.

James H. Matheny an old settler of Coquille Valley died at his daughter's home in Marshfield. Born in Virginia in 1847 he moved to California in 1872 and settled in Coos County, his wife having died in the 1880s. He leaves two daughters Mrs Louisa Corbin and Mrs Belle Waldele and two sons Joe and Wm Matheny. Funeral at Brethren church at 11 Friday morning under local Odd Fellows guidance. Frank Spencer visited Marshfield last weekend.
Mrs Fred Nosler and her children from the Bridge district traveled to Coquille on Tuesday to spend the Christmas holiday at the home of Mrs Nosler's parents.
Emily Meliss Haskins born November 16 1853 in Iowa married Amos G Waters July 3 1874 in Butler County Iowa. The Waters family moved to Coos County around 1886 and Mrs Waters died at the family home near Lee on Sunday December 21 following injuries from a runaway.
