Death of Mrs John Wagner shocks Coos County
The nurse Anna Logan Wagner died from scarlet fever after nursing patients at the Ed Rackleff home near Myrtle Point. Born in Ohio in 1883, she moved to Oregon with her parents, married John Wagner in 1911, and is survived by her husband and parents. Her funeral was held at the M E Church grave, with the community’s sympathy extended to the bereaved family. The obituary notes her education, character, and nursing skill, and includes a later regional note on Coos County apple production and recommended varieties from a statement in the Coos Bay News.

Stage Schedule Change Delays Mail for Myrtle Point Route
Fourth Assistant Postmaster General issued a new winter schedule effective this week on the Myrtle Point Roseburg stage. The route now leaves Roseburg at 11 a m arrives Camas Valley by 10 p m. leaves Camas Valley at 6 a m arrives Myrtle Point by 9 p m. leaves Myrtle Point at 8 p m arrives Roseburg next day by 10 p m. Citizens fear further delays and may file petitions of remonstrance over papers arriving three days late downriver.

Oregon to Receive Fifteen Elk from Government Donation
State Game Warden William L. Finley announced that the federal government will donate fifteen elk to Oregon. The animals will be shipped from Wyoming forests to Oregon as soon as a suitable pasture is prepared, with the state to provide winter feed. Tramp Harry Miner Suspected In Busted Myrtle Point Checks
A transient laborer named Harry Miner, recently in the Myrtle Point area, attempted to cash checks drawn on the Bank of Myrtle Point without funds. He reportedly obtained $10 on a $25 check from Hill & Murphy of Bridge and $15 in Coquille before authorities were alerted. Douglas County officials have been notified. no arrest reported.

At Coquille last Friday Myrtle Point High School edged Coquille 20 to 18 after a tied second half, winning the deciding basket. The girls game was lopsided 38 to 0 in favor of Myrtle Point. Captain Panter arranged a special trip for local spectators. The boys meet the local fire department at Hermann's hall tonight.
