Farm Machinery Showdown at Corvallis Week

Farmers in Oregon can view a wide range of farm machinery at the Farm Mechanics building in Corvallis during Farmers Week and Short Course from January 2 to 6 and January 8 to February 2. About 20 gas engines, 5 binders, 5 mowers, and 5 manure spreaders will be on display with dealer names and prices available for later purchase. An extra attraction January 8 to 14 will feature 10 tractors of different makes for live demonstrations by enrolled farmers.

He told a First Methodist church audience that the state must return to thrift and simple life and abolish sentiment to solve the problem. Farmers' Union Hosts Large Myrtle Point Thanksgiving Banquet

The Myrtle Point Local of the Farmers Educational and Cooperative Union of America held a sizeable Thanksgiving dinner at Lundy Hall with roast and fried chicken and ample food. A. S. Hammond of North Bend spoke on the Coos County Taxpayers League and preliminary work toward county organization. Frank Burkholder, W. C. Chase, Price Robigan and others addressed the open meeting, described as the county union’s most successful in Coos County.

High school beats Norway in a lively prep game

Myrtle Point High School defeated Norway 24 to 9 in a practice style event shown as a main showdown. The crowd enjoyed the match as both teams featured strong lineups with Gant Whitaker and Nosler among scorers. Weather and illness kept many fans away but the decisive early lead by Myrtle Point stood out.

Wind Storm Causes Minor Land Damage Near Myrtle Point

A week’s wind storm caused perilous conditions for coastal steamers and minor land damage in several locations. In Myrtle Point the partially built bungalow for L. O. Tichenor on Theos Guerin acreage swung off its foundation and warped after shingles ran short, leaving the north roof exposed to the southwesterly wind.
