Powers Catholic Chapel Dedication Draws Large Crowd
A Sunday excursion train carried about three hundred people to Powers for the dedication of the new Catholic chapel. Archbishop Christie led mass and gave a sermon stressing spiritual life over materialism. The church seats about 150, with lilies and white carnations decorating the altar. The Powers Fellowship Club served free coffee and visitors enjoyed an afternoon in the town visiting shops and local works.
