Ministerial Association and Epworth League Convene Here Next Week

The Eugene District of the Methodist Episcopal Church will hold a four day convention here next week starting Wednesday. Devotions and sermons open with Rev W M Anderson and Rev Cal H Bryan. The program covers meetings on Thursday and Friday with talks on pastoral duties, evangelism, and church life. The League Convention details will be announced next week.

Roberts Holsteins sale yields fair prices at auction

L A Roberts Holsteins herd brought fair prices last Saturday. A four year old registered cow sold for 300 dollars and a two year old registered heifer for 265 dollars. Dave McKenzie Curry county bought two animals and W T Dement bought most of the rest. Milk and butter fat records influenced prices, signaling buyers may soon demand records.

Fatal accident on South Fork railroad right of way

Foreman Sam Evans, 64, led a crew burning brush along the Smith Powers railroad right of way on the South Fork. About eleven o'clock he ordered the team to proceed while he would finish for the week. His body was found under a snag near the noon break suggesting he was crushed or trapped and could not free himself. No relatives nearby. a letter from Grundy Evans in Wisconsin noted burial in a Lutheran cemetery and that the deceased belonged to J C C F and K P lodges.

New Chamber of Commerce Expands to Lead Oregon

Portland, March 30 Special. The New Chamber of Commerce claims to be largest in the country with over 4 200 members and aims to reach 5 000. 77 committees visited every business house in Portland to secure members. A new business manager will head the consolidated chamber to coordinate statewide growth ahead of the 1915 Exposition travel.

Swedish tailor Frank A Lindh dies in hotel room

The fifty-something Lindh, a Sweden native and veteran tailor who worked in Chicago and at army posts on the Pacific Coast, died early Sunday at the Hotel Guerin after years of ill health. He left a will bequeathing his Oregon property to Thos. D. Guerin. services were held at the Church of the Brethren in Myrtle Point.
