Transfer trials set for Allen and Edwards in Wytheville
Sidna Allen and Wesley Edwards, known as mountain gunmen, were arraigned in Hillsville Va in the same court room used for the March 14 massacre. At consent of both sides their trials move to Wytheville where two clan members were sentenced to death and others given long terms. Edwards to be tried October 28 for murder of Commonwealth Attorney Foster and Allen later for murder of Judge Massey. They were returned to the Roanoke jail.

Los Angeles papers were duped by a lifelike hoax claiming that Niles C. Folsom, an Los Angeles attorney, and Thelma Bartee of San Diego died in a self inflicted car crash on Yopang Pass.
