Boston march 12 estimates put 15 000 lumber handlers and teamsters on strike this morning. 19 000 men are said to be OUI as the dispute spreads among workers for coastwise steamers. Clinton Iowa March 12 A letter to Mr and Mrs Benjamin Beford Sabula says their son George Bedford was killed in the island of Samar with 15 comrades while fighting the Filipinos. He had last been heard from in San Francisco and wrote of enlisting for the Philippines. He served in Company E Ninth United States Infantry.
Helena Mont March 12 the supreme court issues a writ of mandate directing Judge E W Harney to show cause why he has not passed on Miles Finlen motion for a new trial in the Minnie Healey case It has been about fifty days since the motion was filed Finlen seeks a decision to pursue an appeal if adverse Judge Harney must show cause on Monday
