Prince visits Chicago where a royal reception draws large crowds and enthusiastic praise from locals and dignitaries. The event highlights strong public interest in his visit and showcases city hospitality and cultural exchange.
Prince Henry toured Chicago’s business core driving past banks and Marshall Field's, met Barbara Ozburn who gifted a basswood portrait, and received a autographed album. Ira Lundy a former Atalissa resident shot his wife at Burwell Nebraska and then killed himself. The wife survived. Domestic trouble was reported with the couple not living together. Relatives in Atalissa remember the Lundys, with ties to Ady relatives nearby. Details remain sparse.

Washington March 4 The House voted 128 to 109 to approve the conference report on the Philippine tariff bill now becoming law. The measure mainly cuts existing duties by 25 percent. The Senate finance committee studied the House repeal of the War Revenue Tax bill but did not decide, expected to report without changes.

In Conesville witnesses and interested parties in the Bebb case rode a special train this morning. The Cone north train was late and the West Liberty eastbound train was missed, so a telegraphed order from Des Moines led Rock Island to assemble a special at West Liberty to connect with Muscatine. A freight engine and caboose hauled 13 travelers, who arrived in Muscatine shortly after noon.
