Officer of Society for Friendless Here
The Rev. Frank G. Wilcox assistant superintendent of the Iowa Society for Friendless in this city plans to address a union meeting of local men tomorrow afternoon. The society influenced the commutation of Harry Jensen’s sentence and aims for further leniency. It works to rehabilitate paroled inmates, noting 75 percent succeed, with 7-10 percent returning to prison. Over 400 men were aided last year and about 200 will leave prisons soon, as the group seeks legitimate employment for released men. Rev. Parsons will confer with Wilcox Monday evening, and Attorney General Geo. Cosson serves as president of the organization.
