Two Iowans Die by Carbolic Acid Route
In Ft Dodge Daniel Petersen aged 40 took carbolic acid mixed with pop and died this morning after a prior suicide attempt failed from lack of timely medical help. In Des Moines K H Welch aged 60 was found dead in his room on East Maple Street with a four ounce carbolic acid bottle nearby as coroner and police investigated the case amid heat induced mental distress.

Sows City Lad Missing in Iowa River Drowning Fear
Iowa City, June 27. Clifford Shontz, 12, son of Ward Shontz, disappeared from home in morning heat. Police fear he was drowned in the Iowa River and are scouring the countryside for any trace.

Dubuque Man Drowns After Trip Among Vines
Fred Abitz aged 40 of Dubuque Iowa drowned Sunday after tripping in grapevines and falling into deep water. Two girls witnessed the accident but could not save him. He left a wife and five children and had worked for the Dubuque Altar Manufacturing company for years.

Bold Robbery of Train at Ogden
Three masked men held up the second section of Oregon Short Line train No 1 northbound at Sec ong street Ogden Utah early today. About 100 passengers were relieved of valuables and the express messenger safe rifled. The attackers' haul is not yet known. Man Shot During Altercation Near Grable
