The Hershey Guild met at the Hershey Convalescent Home and elected officers for 1973 74: Vera Pryberger president Doris Schmarje vice president Ielen Lanfier secretary and Lorraine Swoumil treasurer. Thirty one members and four guests attended the picnic supper prepared by local volunteers. The next meeting will be at Ellen Lanfier’s home near Nichols.
Miss Allene Hillman and Tony Lee Morse wed in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by Rev. Gregory Caldwell at Musserville United Methodist Church. About 250 guests attended a reception at the YWCA. Morse, a Muscatine High graduate, plans to attend the University of Iowa. he is self employed at Tony's Tropicals.
Cleanup completed after a Rock Island freight derailed five cars near Columbus Junction Saturday evening. Four cars off the track, one over the embankment, crates of muskmellons moved by truck. Hulcher Emergency Service assisted. tracks and bridge repaired. highway block cleared. Also reports of rabbit theft, bike theft, and a break in attempt with no losses.

The Keithsburg Firemen's Fish Fry wrapped after a three day fest featuring dances a parade a tractor pull a talent show and country rock. Ivy Wheeler daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben Shone maker was crowned queen with Cindy Nylin Candy Brock as runners up Becky Fox was named princess with her court. The Lion's club parade theme Times Have Changed honored local groups with 4H Klipper Klub first in religious organization and Boy Scout Troop No 443 second. Tractor pull winners were Dim Farmer first Manford Davison second. Talent show winners included Tammy Baker and Jayne Miller among others with trophies and cash prizes awarded.
