Muscatine county residents drawn for petit jury service during the July August and September quarter who desire to be excused from service for legitimate cause are to present their reasons for being excused from service to Judge Robert K Stohr Wednesday at 9 30 a m Under provisions of a new law enacted by the general assembly this year and which becomes effective July 1 1969 those excused for legitimate cause from serving may be retained on the jury list for service during the succeeding quarter Judge Stohr reports.

Series of films now underway at Presbyerian church
A series of full length feature films is presented on Sundays in the basement of the Presbyerian church. Madison school addition bid opening set for Thursday

Muscatine school board approves Title I program and repairs
Muscatine Community School District members approved a $95,984 federal Title I remedial reading program, a new towel service for the high school, new doors for the 9th Street side, and two committees to handle insurance matters. Public housing meeting set for July 21 in Ames
The Mayor's Advisory Committee housing panel announced a public meeting in the city council chambers on Monday July 21 to report progress on the Story County project for rehabilitating substandard homes. Mrs. George Koenben leads the Ames activity. James Harrington will discuss Catholic Charities senior housing in Waterloo. Invitations will go to industry, churches, civic groups, and agencies. The panel continues work on housing rehabilitation, senior housing, and low income housing. The next meeting is planned for Monday July 14 in the city hall conference room.
