Stanley firm retained for waterway system
Stanley Consultants of Muscatine and Atlanta have been retained to provide environmental resource planning engineering and design for the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway System, a 253 mile project with about 1 billion dollars in federal and nonfederal funds. The work will connect the Tennessee River with the Black Warrior Tombigbee River system and is to be completed in 1981. The Corps says more dirt will be moved than for the Panama Canal.
