Muscatine considers hiring detective and safety director ideas
The Muscatine police chief sought three detectives over budget years but funding failed. A program for marking personal items with social security numbers began in 1972, yet few residents used it. Officials discuss liquor fund use, psychological exams, and a study tour of public safety director systems in Oak Park, Edina, and beyond as manpower strains rise.
