City council approved purchase of rescue equipment for river recovery and arranged with Muscatine Power Boat Club to store it at the club clubhouse for quick access.

Former Boy Orator From Iowa Dies at 74

Born January 9 1859 in Red Oak township he studied at Cornell College and law in Cedar Rapids then served in the Iowa legislature county attorney and 16 years in Congress. Fore Withdraws Resignation As Muscatine Social Chief
