Fresh Pineapple Offers Easy Prep for Summer Meals
Homemakers are urged to use fresh pineapple now in peak supply for refreshing meals. Clear slicing steps trim rind and eyes, remove core, and prepare wedges for shells or dishes. Look for ripe color and fragrance, avoid dull green or sunken eyes, and note Vitamin C and lower calories in natural juice canning. Pineapple pairs with ham, poultry, salads, appetizers, and desserts.
Peppers Prep Tip For Salads And Dishes
Remove the white ribs and seeds when preparing green peppers for salads or hot dishes. This step helps reduce bitterness and improve texture, making the peppers tender and ready to mix with other ingredients.
