Well known orator Frank Dixon presents a stirring public address titled The Man Against, drawing on civic themes and urging action. Supporters applaud as he outlines social reform goals and calls for unity.
Frank Dixon spoke at the Grand Opera House on socialism in a two hour Y M C A Star Course address titled The Man Against the Mass. He argued socialism differs from anarchy and urged development of the individual to uplift society. A Des Moines Muscatine basketball final saw Muscatine defeat Des Moines 41 to 30 to clinch the state title with Kautz and Lillibridge each scoring six goals.

Battler Nelson outlines a campaign to fight Sealer Anholz McFarland and finally Joe Gans within a year. He announces a return to the title chase after defeating Jack Clifford and declares he will force Gans from retirement to meet him.
Rev. C A Dettmers of the German Congregational church received a call yesterday from Salems German Congregational church in Lincoln Nebraska. The Lincoln church is a leading German church and grew its youth program to over 500 last summer. Dettmers will remain in Muscatine despite the offer.
Beginning July 1 1907 all state armory improvements under the new law receive a 600 dollar allowance. Company C cannot draw it now due to insufficient floor space as the drill hall must be 60 by 80 feet but measures are 41 by 75. A nearby lot was bought but cannot widen the hall. The plan includes locker rooms officers rooms an assembly or reading room and a parlor. Members showed loyalty at a recent gathering with Commissary Sergeant Al Thomas and his orchestra providing music and Al Wagner supplying cigars for the oyster supper. Arrangements will be made to dispose of the old building to permit construction of a new one.
