Paper-Like Dresses Back On Dress Racks
Los Angeles AP report says a fire department order to halt selling paper like dresses was lifted. Joseph Magnin Stores reissued the items after state tests found the dresses acceptable. Fire Captain Jake Dukes cited price ranges from 2 to 40 dollars and clarified the material was a polyester plastic on glass fibers, not a true paper garment. Louis Segal from the state fire marshal’s office described the fabric as jam resistant, yet comparable in safety to many dresses in closets nationwide.
