Several community groups share holiday events. Parents Without Partners Chapter 303 held its annual family Christmas party at Grange hall with about 36 attendees and a Santa visit. Long Creek Homemakers in Wapello hosted a Christmas dinner at the Holiday Inn Burlingon with 17 members, reading poems and planning charitable donations. Grape Growers Association of Council Bluffs announced equipment sale ending a grape era due to retirements and encroachment. Salvation Army drive underway in Joy with Don George as treasurer. Kappa Tau Betas in Wapello gathered for a Christmas party at Marguerite Allen’s home with nine members, concluding with bridge winners. The next meetings and events are scheduled in January.
