Mrs. Elizabeth Masterson, Muscatine county social services director, was named outreach representative for Muscatine county. Two Accidents In Muscatine Involve Parked Cars
Muscatine police investigated two Friday accidents both involving a passenger car hitting a parked vehicle. Kenneth Stych, 19, passed a wrecker on Leroy street and hit Walter Travis's 1964 Ford. Donald Cameron, 33, struck Henry Hudson's parked car on Towa Avenue and was charged with striking an unattended vehicle. Weather outlook calls for rain or snow east, else partly cloudy with highs in the 30s.

Northwestern Bell reports progress on upgrading Muscatine rural lines with elimination of eight party lines. About 650 customers to receive one or two party service by early next year with full area coverage to follow. costs reach about $710,000 and 43 miles buried cables completed. In Des Moines, Davenport Water Co. gets temporary rate hike of 17.7 percent boosting revenue by $434,770 annually, pending ICC approval and refunds if portions are disallowed.
