The superintendent W F Chevalier releases a quarterly report highlighting non attendance of children aged 7 to 14. The board plans enforcement under current law to raise enrollment and attendance across the district.
The report covers the quarter from September 15 to November 21. It shows total enrollment of 2593 with 1272 boys and 1321 girls, average belonging 2354, and daily attendance 2244. Non residents 23, tardies 206, tardiness cases 291, truants 20, and 304 visitors.
The article notes 110 fewer first year pupils than in the primary and cites early five year old entry, weather disruptions, and high dropout rates by grades four to eight. It details a new compulsory education law requiring seven to fourteen year olds to attend school and outlines enforcement, truancy officers, and local Muscatine figures.

A Saturday night bowling rematch at Davenport drew a fair crowd as Muscatine defeated Davenport by 333 pins in a lively meet between the two teams.
