Muscatine approves 15.2 million bond for power plant
Muscatine city council ratified a 15.2 million bond issue to finance a 66 megawatt turbo generator and boiler addition to the municipal electric plant on Maple Grove Road. Of the bond, 13.5 million funds the plant improvements and 1.7 million refunds existing bonds. Officers for the coming year will be elected at the Shrine club dinner on December 14 at Hotel Muscatine, with Vernon Shepard to speak after the dinner.

Contracts for Mad Creek Repair Project Awarded
Two contractors for the Mad Creek flood control repair in Muscatine were awarded by the Rock Island district Corps of Engineers. Kemp and Sons of Letts will lease two draglines and a crawler tractor for 10,470 dollars, Wendling Quarries of Atalissa won the other contract for 71,576 dollars in rock. Work starts soon and should finish by December, repairing banks with derrick stone riprap and crushed stone after 6.5 inches of June rain damage.

Forms and high school records go to the Higher Education Facilities Commission in Des Moines by January 2 1968. About 250 scholarships worth 100 to 400 dollars will be announced March 1 1968. School Bus Routes Resume After Bridge Reopens
