Improvements at Louisa County Home Brighten Facility

WAPELLO COUNTY Iowa improvements over the past three years have transformed the Louisa County Home. New stewards Oscar and Mrs. Davis arrived from Des Moines and renovated living quarters, a canteen area, and electrical wiring. The home now features stained floors, brighter halls, new beds, lamps from Muscatine, a pool table, a shop, and a modern kitchen, with ongoing safety and sanitation upgrades urged by the grand jury.

Columbus OES Elects Lois Houseal Matron

The Emma Bickman Chapter of the D.E.S. met in Columbus Junction at the Lodge Hall. New officers were elected led by Lois Houseal as worthy matron and Howard Davis as worthy patron. Other elected officers included Belly Boulon associate matron Clyde Crawford associate patron, Budah Preiz secretary, Leah Hank treasurer, Guerite Harbison conductress, Kathryn Carey assistant conductress. Appointments to be named later.
