Penney Co to Acquire Golden Rule Mercantile Stores
Announcement by C. H. Tripp of Murray J. C. Penney Co. reveals plan to purchase twenty Golden Rule Mercantile stores. Consolidation, valued over 2 million dollars, to be completed after New York negotiations on October 4. Penney will operate under its name from January 1, 1928 following inventory. take over furniture fixtures and stock.

Murray High booster club banquet honors old members
The Murray High School booster club, called the goats, held a Halloween themed banquet Monday at 4 p.m. in the school hall. Barbara Badger presided, with toasts by Fann Berge to sponsors Doris Styles, Mary McMillan to the old group, Katherine Walters to the new, and Margaret Blair to all. The program included a pledge by the goats to uphold club ideals.
