The Desirel Plant in Murray recently installed and complete sits on the south side of West 48th South. Open for inspection October 9, 7 and 8 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors will see a diesel engine and Westinghouse generator with switchboard panels. The plant will function as a generating station and substation, with plans for three 100 KVA transformers and extended high voltage lines to feed Murray's north end, improving service and reducing losses.

The new auxiliary power plant at Muray City features reinforced concrete steel and brick construction. It includes a main building with a rear shop extension oil tanks a fuel oil tank lubricating oil system gravity feed to a railroad track and a cooling pond. The engine generator and aerial equipment rest on a solid base with circular steel window details and cast stone trim. Richmond Machinery installed the Diesel OIl Engine under Tilman engineer direction and Ko AJ Parkhieen supervised electrical work.
