A dramatic mishap at the J C Penney store involved a seaside style ride, the Coney Island Giant Dip, carrying a carload of passengers. The car hung at the top of the track then plunged toward the earth but occupants were saved by quick action of operator Louis Mumford and a prompt safety brake.
A Utah health board letter commends excellent water quality from Mur. My City Water tested by a laboratory. The analysts report the supply is suitable for domestic uses with good bacteriologic standards. The Sanitary Engineer from the state board of health signs the memo.

The Vine Street paving completion was celebrated at noon on Monday at the Murray City limits and South Cottonwood ward house. Commissioners Howe and Quinn, Fred R. Anderson, John Hansen, J. F. Erickson, J. W. McHenry and Contractor Christensen attended. Commissioner Quinn called it the most important highway in the county after study, and J. W. McHenry of the Citizens Committee spoke on the paving linking Murray City to southeast territory and fostering cooperation. Speeches praised the durable, beautiful roadway and its public benefits for South Salt Lake County.

Mrs Anna Margaret and Lars Johnson celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Friday November 15 1920 at the residence of their youngest son Simon at 1140 Bueno Avenue Salt Lake City. They will host a dinner for 25 relatives and friends and their children will present them with a radio and gold coins. The couple arrived in Murray December 1906 and have lived at 318 Germania Avenue for 23 years. He born January 30 1858 and she born November 27 1857 both in Upsala Sweden. They married November 15 1879 and have seven children and 22 grandchildren with one son living in Stockholm. Two sons served in World War I and others have passed away.
A Harvest Ball at Grant Ward Hall featuring Judd's Joy Boys on November 10 at 8 30 PM. Admission is 25 cents per couple with a price waltz and four gifts for winners. Remembering the Halloween Ball from October 20, organizers invite all to attend and enjoy another evening of dancing and music.

Miss Emily Caldwell daughter of Mrs. Charles Caldwell wed Mr. Lynn Peterson of Ogden in the Salt Lake Temple on Monday at 11 oclock. They planned a wedding trip to the Northwest with stops in Vancouver and San Francisco and Los Angeles before settling in Ogden. A reception for 160 friends followed at Murray First Ward recreation hall with gift table and refreshments.

Mr and Mrs Howe and their young daughter La Veen intend to leave Milford and Ease, taking a brief hiatus from routine life.
Miss Ruth Webb's six girls known as The Stylish Steppers wowed crowds at the American Legion Armistice celebration in Ogden. They presented four numbers The Military Tap Break Away Little Red School House and A Waste Clod to a cheering audience broadcast by Roshoe Grover. Their success has earned them continued bookings at the Elk's Club and the Play House with Miss Webb directing their poised performances.
At the Tayloreville Ward Mutual Improvement Association the Adult Class met Tuesday. Dr Davies from the University of Vinh delivered a talk on subtle health and hygiene. Seventy attendees heard the address, with musical interludes by Miss Helen Bennion and Miss Van Dennakker. A. Cooper spoke on interior decoration. Next Tuesday Dr Nothwell will lecture on the progress of surgery.
Mrs. Jordan entertained guests at her Beaver home for a quilting party held on Wednesday. The event drew local residents and featured conversations about needlework and upcoming community gatherings.
A joint Salt Lake County Farm Bureau Murray Lions Club gathering at St. Vincent's Church featured a banquet, music, and speeches. E L Eckman elected city commissioner in Murray City race. He brings practical training in large industries and expertise in costs and power management. Eckman studied the city's power plant and enterprises and presents progressive plans for Murray's advancement.
A new industry begins in Murray as W. W. Hammell, formerly of Salt Lake, purchases 24 acres on 58rd South to raise musk rats. A ground fence and individual pens enclose the area. Hammell, at 770 W. 53rd South, also serves as an agent for the Pacific National Insurance Co. and offers service.
