Mrs Mary L Dudley Wins First Prize in Subscription Contest

The Murray Eagle’s thirty day campaign closed with Mrs Mary L Dudley winning the grand prize an Essex Super Six Coach purchased from Frank Howe. Second prize went to Mrs Elmo Martin a 4 Crosley Radio Set from Smith Hardware Company and third prize to Mrs Ethel Millerberg a cedar chest from Granite Furniture Co. Local officials thank all contestants and praise the campaign for expanding the Eagle’s reach in Murray City and nearby.

Death of W H Draper in Utah Hospital

William Frederick Draper 64 a Salt Lake City area resident born September 17, 1873 native of Deajer died Monday. Survived by his mother Elizabeth Ryan Draper a number of children and many siblings across Utah Idaho and Midvale. Burial plans pending with Intermountain Mortuary.

Kids Ask for New Holliday Elementary School

Kids requested a new elementary school in Holliday for the Granite district at an estimated cost of 40,000 dollars. Ashton & Evans of Salt Lake prepared the plans. A site is pending board decision expected Tuesday afternoon. The brick stone building will have eight classrooms, offices and a teachers’ room and aim to open next September.

Ladies' Aid elects officers and plans furnace fund

At a regular meeting the Ladies' Aid Society elected Mrs. A. BE Short as president, Mrs C. Chamberlain as vice president, Mrs A. H. Fugate as secretary, and Mrs W. J. Rothwell as treasurer. They also decided to create a furnace fund for the church.

Fairbourn Rites Held Crescent Ward Chapel

Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah M. Fairbourn died May 24 at her Crescent home were held Tuesday at 1 p.m in the Crescent ward chapel. Burial followed in Crescent Ward cemetery. Born April 28, 1803 in Sill Creek, she married William Fairbourn and helped develop Crescent. An active church worker and longtime Salt Lake Temple devotee, she led the Rose Society of Crescent Ward as president for about eighteen years.
