In a fast paced Draper men’s game against Spanish Fork a second overtime decided the winner. Willard Day scored the two late field baskets to lift Draper to a 32 to 29 final after a 28 28 regulation and a scoreless first overtime. Spanish Fork’s Beck Bowen Clayson Larson Jones starred for the visitors, while Draper counted Day Sjoblom Rasmussen and Allen for the win.
A supplemental petition for paving Main Street from Ninth South to Twenty-First South has been filed with the city recorder by W. J. Meeks secretary of the Main Street Improvement Association. The original petition was filed in December and the aim is to extend paving to Murray with a department budget of about 54 000 dollars available if the commission approves. Residents are urged to back the association and support the project.

St Theresa’s Altar Society held a card party Tuesday evening January 1 at Mrs Paul F Troester’s home. Prizes went to Mrs A Bowen and Mr T H Pardohn with consolation to Mr R R Gilbert. A luncheon set raffle was won by Mrs John Eltz. A luncheon followed as guests filled the Troester residence.
Midvale Juniors beat the Methodist Church team 34 to 29 then thrashed the Mormon Scouts 29 to 1. West Jordan defeated the Juniors 40 to 31 in the best game of the season, and West Jordan also beat the Juniors in football. Midvale Juniors second team beat West Jordan second team. Next feature is the K N Club of Salt Lake. meeting Friday at 6:80.
