Ford fuel system praised for reliability and long service

The Ford design emphasizes simplicity and durability in the fuel system. A heavy sheet steel line tank is welded into the cowl, two-piece construction resists rust and requires little service. The carburetor, choke rod primer, hot spot manifold, and easy adjustments all contribute to an 80 percent simpler design with routine maintenance like cleaning the sediment bulb and draining the carburetor for short periods.
