Nutrition course offered by Murray Parent-Teachers

The Murray Parent-Teachers association sponsors a five week nutrition course for parents beginning next week. Miss Anna Page of the State Department of Adult Education will teach at elementary schools on Wednesday and Thursday sessions with topics on nutrition, energy foods, vitamins, protein and minerals, and digestive health. Registration is required. mothers and fathers are invited to attend.

Union Funeral Services for Albert W Nielson

Union Ward house hosted funeral services for Albert W Nielson on February 21 with Bishop Horace Godfrey officiating. A quartet including Kenneth Brady Harold Richards Ethel Graham and Rachel Freeman performed three numbers with Alvira Crittenden, and Mrs Gumbill Meck stead sang My Faith in Thee with Mrs Gertie Sharp on piano. Speakers included W D Kubre Sandy Arthur Casper and Bishop Godfrey and prayers were given by Kenneth Brady and James Glover. Burial followed at Midvale Cemetery.

Mrs J William Caldwell entertained many friends at dinner Sunday at her home. Mrs Harry A Nelson hosted relatives Friday at her West Forty-fifth South Street home. Sisters Mrs George Nelson and Miss Evelyn Atkinson left for Boise Idaho. Mr s George L Nelson and three children joined by Miss Evelyn Nelson headed to Boise to visit a husband in the Veterans hospital. Mrs Milton Peston and Miss Melba Raylancge hosted Deep Phreadetindy members Monday at home with games and refreshments. About 15 girls to meet at Blanche Andersons on Cherry Street Thursday to form a girls social club and choose a name. A birthday party honored Mrs Nelle Bennion at her Taylorsville home on February 15, with 40 family guests in patriotic decor and refreshments. Bennion’s siblings from out of town included Mr and Mrs J A North of Bingham, Mr and Mrs K North, Mr and Mrs Alf Rockwool of Salt Lake, Mr and Mrs W H Stout of Holiday, Mr Gee Spencer, Mrs Alice Gibson of Logan, and Mrs Martha North of Windward. The Arte and Crafts section of the Murray Woman's Club met Inez Monday at Grant Bryan's home. next meeting at Mrs W L Wright's home. Ten of her friends surprised Mrs Joseph Erickson at Salt Lake home last Thursday afternoon for social time and refreshments.
