Murray Womans Club Hosts Midvale Community Chit Night

The Murray Womans Club hosted the Midvale Community Chit at the Methodist Church on Wemenday. Mrs. Magh Ward welcomed guests and introduced Mrs. Ira Beckatead, with a program featuring Edgar A. Guest poems and performances by Mrs. Fayllen, Miss Lillian Hart, and others. Tea and lavender pink decor, a future program at Mill Creek ward, and a freewill offering at the door were noted.

Woodtcraft Civic Meeting Entertainment At Fraternal Hall

The Woodtcraft Civic members were entertained by Mrs. Nellie Bratuffer and Mrs. Joseph Clyde on Tuesday April 24 at the Fraternal Hall. A delicate luncheon was served to eighteen members. After a short meeting, the mime of "Cootie" was played. The first prize went to Mrs. Kagalle and the high prize to Mrs. Myrtle Stauffer.

Mr and Mrs W E Bacon guests of Mr and Mrs T W Bacon last two weeks left for Ventura California. Mr and Mrs Ivan Bean and family drove to Prove Sunday to visit Mrs Heans parents Mr and Mrs Jorgen Hansen. Treader Stowe charged 87.50 per ton for hard clean fuel. Ella Farrell spent winter in California and returned to Toccoa Arizona. Mrs Andrew Johnson celebrated birthday with friends on State street. Mrs Albert Tioneen returned home recovering from operation at Salt Lake hospital.

Regions of the Salt Lake County banks will shift their schedule from May first through October. Opening at 12:00 p.m. daily and closing at 7:00 p.m. on weekdays with Saturday hours from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Devonian Process to Build Murray Factory Site

Devonian Process Inc has arranged to buy a factory site from Roy and Tracy Wright between the Ilo Grande tracks and Second West street. The plant will convert raw coal into gasoline petroleum and by products with smokeless heat valued coal residue. Fifteen workers will be initially employed with total staff rising above twenty. The facility aims to supply cheap gas to spur further industry in Murray City and to reactivate the idle Ah Zine plant. Local leaders Lions Club D A McMillan Phillip Beate Frank Howe J W McHeary and Mayor J Lester drive this expansion, forecasting rapid industrial growth and a notable city transformation. Social events report attendees from Salt Lake and Murray, with hospitality for visitors and ongoing community plans.
