Granite School District Considers Teacher Pay Increases
The Granite district board plans to reconsider its refusal of teacher pay raises for the coming year after a petition from a 9 member teachers committee led by Harold Lee. The committee backs the district’s progressive program but urges economies in other areas and prefers an eight and a half month schedule with small increases over a nine month plan without raises. Superintendent Francis W. Kirkham will submit a detailed proposal at the next meeting, while the board anticipates a deficit regardless of budget economies.
