Death notices Earl A. Rogers Dies at 71 in West Salem

Earl A. Rogers 71 of RFD 1 Mr. Vernon died suddenly at 9 30 last night while recovering from an operation at Good Samaritan Hospital. A farmer and former state employee, he resided on the Rogers Road and was a bachelor. Funeral services Saturday at 3 30 p.m. in Pulley Funeral Home chapel with burial in West Salem cemetery. Call after 11 a.m. Saturday. He was born May 25 1884 in Jefferson county to Silas and Mollie Rogers and is survived only by a sister Blanche Rogers of RFD 1.

Hutchison Former Resident Dies At 52 In Carbondale

Howard H. Hutchison 52, a former Mt. Vernon resident and Sebel Shoe Store employee, died early today of a heart attack at his home in Carbondale. Funeral arrangements are incomplete with burial planned in Carbondale. He is survived by his mother Mrs. Alice Hutchison of Taylorville and four sisters Mrs. Dale of Fairfield Road, Mrs. Carnahan of Taylorville, Mrs. Sursa and Mrs. Gibson of Denver, Colorado. He was never married.

William H. Webb 88 Dies in California

Relatives here report the death of William H. Webb, 88, Christmas night in Modesto California. He was born south of Waltonville, son of Daniel and unknown Webb. Survivors include a half sister Mrs Alvin Jones Mt Vernon a brother Walter Webb Les ser and two sisters Mrs Mary Spangler Springfield and Mrs Addie Lamb Salinas California. Uncles include Dr Clarence Hamilton and Mrs W E Letzekorn of this city. Funeral services were held in Modesto on Wednesday.

Smuggles Liquor To A Prisoner Lands In Jail

John McCarthy 58 of this city was arrested for furnishing liquor to a prisoner after he handed a pint of whiskey to Lloyd Bodine 22 who is jailed on a parole violation in Jefferson County. The bottle was recovered unopened. McCarthy was fined 50 dollars and costs for furnishing liquor and 10 dollars and costs on a drunkenness charge.

Insane Woman Kills Two Sons In St Louis

A 29 year old mother Kathryn Davis told police she shot her two sons John nine and Kevin twenty one months to death at their suburban Affton home.
