Funeral services for Charles E. McKinney of Texico are set for Friday at 2 00 p m at Union Chapel with Rev Harry M Fish officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Mr McKinney died Tuesday night at his Texico home at age 80.
Funeral services for Homer Simeon White, 74, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p m in the chapel of the Pulley Funeral Home. Rev J G Parsons will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will lie at the Pulley Funeral Home after 10 a m Friday. White resided at 601 South 17th Street and died at 10 45 a m Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Grace Newell aged 80 died at 11 45 a m Wednesday at her Waltonville home after a fall two weeks prior. Funeral Friday at 2 p m at the Waltonville Universalist church with Rev Marsh Harpole officiating. burial in Knob Prairie cemetery. Survived by husband and two sons Kermit Waltonville and Delbert Columbus Ohio. Presiding relatives include her parents and one brother deceased.
A larceny charge against Shannon Dooley, 18, of RFD, Mr. Vernon, was dismissed in county court yesterday. Judge Dale Andrews dismissed the charge on the recommendation of States Attorney Demetri Hassakis.
An unknown hit and run driver struck and damaged a parked car in the 900 block of South Tenth Street. The car, owned by Fd Meek, was in front of his oil establishment. Police estimate the damage at over $50.

Associated Press reports 59 year old Charles F Carpentier declares intent to seek another term as Illinois secretary of state. He cites drivers license and securities administration as key achievements and vows to continue enforcing the law. Carpentier a former state senator and East Moline mayor, won a 1952 close race. Gov Stratton and Warren Wright undecided.
South Korea was presented a bill totaling 684.6 million dollars for land and utilities used by Allied troops since the Korean War and was told it owes the Allies more. U S Army Maj. Gen. Harmony noted that allied nations waived claims in exchange for Korea waiving theirs, with Korea promising to study the waiver proposal.
In St Louis Circuit Court Judge Robert J. Kirkwood awarded 271005 in fees to 24 attorneys who worked on a suit interpreting a section of Adolphus Busch's will. The case concerned the division of an estimated 15 million dollar estate of Mrs Wilhelmina Busch Woods, daughter of Adolphus Busch, co founder of Anheuser Busch. Woods died in 1952 and the trust was divided among 14 Busch descendants after a year and a half of litigation.
President Luis Batlle Berres of Uruguay is hospitalized in Chicago with extreme exhaustion and a bleeding ulcer. A spokesman said his general condition is excellent, though he will cancel all appointments for at least the next two days after feeling unwell at a dinner at the Chicago Club.
In Benton Iowa a fire that killed Mrs Ruby Wingo and five Wingo sisters left three children Agnes 14 Truman 13 and Muriel 11 as survivors. The Bank of Benton oversees donations from six area towns to aid the orphans.

A 39 year old millworker Ernest Fallone cried as a boy killed three people and wounded a policeman. Mrs Fallone tearfully recalled the boy as always good, speaking from a window lit by Christmas candles.
MOUNT CARMEL Ill Mrs Mary Bell Higgins 46 of Bellmont NL was killed and another woman injured when their car ran out of control on snow covered Illinois Route 15 and overturned in a ditch. Injured was Mrs Jewell Newkirk 32 of Mount Carmel. Higgins was driving the two women home from work at the edge of Mount Carmel.
