Mrs Albert Larson Rites At Lockridge
Mrs Albert Larson a 78 year old Hfe Lima resident of Jefferson county died Saturday at her Lockridge home after years of ill health. Rites were held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Baptist church in Lockridge with Rev S P Williamson officiating. Burial in Lockridge cemetery. Born February 26 1868 at Lockridge she was daughter of Jacob and Sarah Baldosier Duttweiler. Widowed since March 25 1926 she is survived by son Kal A Larson of Lockridge and daughter Mrs Emma Dunlap of Salt Lake City plus brother John Tultweiller and four sisters Mrs Sadie Ort Mrs Leonard Cmison Mrs Anna King and Mrs Katear ren. Also survived by two sons William and John who preceded her.

Engineers warn flood losses could be cut by completing Red Rock and Coralville projects
Davenport said by Col. Pelt that Ottumwa and southern Iowa could have avoided the 1944 flood if the Red Rock dam and reservoir below Des Moines and the Coralville project near Iowa City had been completed. Losses from 1944 totaled over four million dollars in direct damage with indirect damages far higher. engineers estimate the two projects would store 1.4 million acre feet, reducing flood risk and costly rebuilds for decades.
