Taxpayers urged to list property in Rockcastle County

The Rockcastle County Tax Commissioner warns all residents to appear and list their property under the 1918 Acts. Deputies will be at the office above A. G. Baker’s store from July 1 to October 31 1918 daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Failure to list incurs a fine up to fifty dollars.

Killis Emberson Adams died at his brother Thos Adams home in Kansas on Tuesday December 25 1917 age 72 years 8 months 13 days Funeral held December 26 1917 at 2 30 p m at the home of his nephew John Adams conducted by Rev R S Sergant Interment City cemetery. Ralph Waldo Emerson of the War Loan Organization in Washington led the purchase of three million buttons as part of preparations for the Fourth Liberty Loan. His use of a steel engraving process saved the government sixty five thousand dollars in red money and reduced waste of celluloid guncotton white paper and other materials. Factories nationwide will ship the buttons to federal reserve districts to ensure every district receives its bond buyers insignia on time.
