MAST MOTUS Tax Listing Notice to Rockcastle County Taxpayers

The notice directs all residents to appear before the County Tax Commissioner to list property under the 1918 Revenue and Taxation Acts. Officials will be at A. G. Baker's store from July 1 to October 3, 1918, daily 8 am to 5 pm. Failure to list may incur a fine up to fifty dollars.

Pie supper funds Red Cross at school house

A Monday night pie supper at the school house raised 21.55 from eighteen pies. The event, aided by M E Burton who sold the pies, earned praise for the district and its pupils. Families and neighbors attended and supported the Red Cross drive.

Register All Men 18 to 45 on September 12 1918

The proclamation sets September 12 1918 as the registration day for all men aged eighteen to forty five inclusive. Local boards state officials will promptly proceed with registration using existing draft machinery and extended registrars. Penalties include one year imprisonment for failure to register.
