Former Senator Alfred J. Doherty Dies at 73 in Clare
Ex senator Alfred J. Doherty, who served in the Michigan Senate from 1901 to 1903 and chaired the state board of agriculture, died at his Clare home after years of illness at age 73. He also owned the Doherty hotel and a light and water plant, and had 53 years residence in Clare. Survived by wife, three sons A J Doherty Jr Frank Floyd and daughter Mrs William Bicknell. Funeral plans not announced.
