United States Attorney Tuttle presented evidence to a federal grand jury alleging two internal revenue agents Edward Brown and Elmer Andrews sought 37500 from Harry Sinclair by promising a quarter of a million dollars in 1925 26 income tax relief. Sinclair allegedly trapped them by giving 10000 in marked bills to Andrews who placed them in his hat. Andrews and Brown were arrested and released on bail.

Springfield Mass September 8 seven year old Luke Bridta who was deaf and dumb sought a cure by flight. Pilot Charles Potholm took off with him and Abraham Mazer. A 2000 foot loop preceded a dive at 200 mph. The wing collapsed and the plane crashed into a swamp. Both the boy and Mazor died. Potholm was thrown from the cockpit.
