Market Over 500 Tons of Chicory at Mt Pleasant Plant
More than 500 tons of chicory have been marketed this year at the Mt. Pleasant station of E. B. Mull et Co chicory plant with about 50 tons processed daily. Sub-stations at Delwin and Coleman ship chicory to the Port Huron refinery. The Mt. Pleasant plant runs 24 hours with seven men on day shift and three on night shift. An average of 80 tons daily is hauled to the plant as the chicory is dried here before final refining at Port Huron. A 46 day run is predicted. Oscar Wiley, Rosebush, is the plant manager.
