Detroit Oct 14 Professor Albert Einstein will speak from Berlin via radio hookup as part of the Golden Light jubilee honoring Thomas Edison. The event, announced by the organizing committee, will feature speeches by President Hoover Henry Ford and Edison on the nationwide broadcast.
Rep Miles Callaghan of Reed City outlines a sweeping tax equalization reform to be debated next legislature. His plan would create 10 regional equalization supervisors plus agriculture and education officials to form a state board replacing the current auditor general, agriculture commissioner and three tax commission members. In Jackson on October 14 the prosecution continues to build its case to convict J Howard Shorney 25 of murdering his wife Alberta an expectant mother. The trial before Circuit Judge John Simpson enters its second week as prosecutors seek to admit a confession said to have been made by Shorney's son to Police Inspector L B Secor.
George E. Carr head of the state Ku Klux Klan filed a circuit court suit in Grand Rapids seeking 7058 dollars owed since September 1928 from State Treasurer Frank D. McKay. Carr said the action is a political move and McKay will be represented by attorney John M. Dunham of Grand Rapids to determine obligations.
Premier Ramsay MacDonald of England leaves New York with his daughter Ishbel and entourage. The party plans a tour of Canada including Niagara Falls Ottawa Toronto and Montreal before sailing back to England on October 25 aboard the Duchess of York.

Stavros faces trial. Eastman promised sensational disclosures on the witness stand. Eastman was dismissed after accusing partner William Knapp of taking the bribe.
Detroit reports preparations for the fifth annual National Standard Parts Association exhibition opening November 11 and closing November 15. 225 exhibitors occupying 100000 square feet will showcase automotive replacement parts maintenance materials shop tools equipment and aviation products. 150 overseas guests will attend a special dinner on November 11 representing foreign countries.
