Former Flint Banker Acquitted in Embezzlement Case
Grant J. Brown, former president and director of Union Industrial Bank in Flint, was acquitted of one embezzlement charge of 47 861 dollars. He still faces three pending counts including 30 000 and 10 000 embezzlement charges and a false financial statement claim under state banking law. The two week trial ended after jurors deliberated 43 hours with a 6 6 deadlock before the acquittal. The case involved 12 former bank officers with 11 already serving prison terms.

Supreme Court rules liquor purchase by a private buyer lawful
