Lansing March 31 The state conservation department will publish a digest of the fish and game laws for the coming season. Acting director George R Hogarth says the booklet will aid hunters and fishers as changes occur. Requests for copies should include two cents postage to fund distribution from the game preserva tion fund. The digest lists season dates size limits and possession limits for trout bass wall-eyed pike grayling bluegills rock bass crappie white bass sunfish and perch.

Two elderly residents near Shepherd were buried today. James Hevel aged 73, a retired farmer, died March 27 at his farm and was laid to rest at Salt River cemetery after a 10 a.m. service at Pleasant Valley church. Benjamin I Cross aged 81, a retired farmer, died March 29 at a child's home and was buried at 2 p.m. after services. he left three daughters and one son.

Beet Growers Hear Lectures By Michigan Agent Oviatt
Ex extension agent H C Oviatt lectured to beet growers in the county yesterday with a third talk this afternoon at the court house. Friday sessions were at Vernon town hall and Beal City with strong attendance. He outlined four points: crop rotation to preserve soil fertility, use of organic matter and fertilizers, seed bed preparation and spacing, and closer farmer supervision of labor with a potential bonus linked to yield per acre.
